Mr. Kevin Miller is a member of the consultant group at VinaConsulting.
He is responsible for researching and making recommendation on the best open source business application solutions (ERP, CRM, CMS, DMS, HRMS and
POS) including: installation, testing, maintenance and training. In 2007, he formed Vscapeone, an IT start-up specializing in open source business and web application solutions. He is currently the IT consultant for Asia Injury Prevention Foundation assisting them on their web component of the Wear-a-Helmet campaign in Vietnam. He also teaches ICT part-time at the American International School in Saigon where he taught over 100 students how to use BSD/Linux and open source software.
Kevin's past employers in Vietnam include: Indochina Capital, Mekong Securities, Saigon Institute of Technology, Center for International Education (Vietnam National University - HCM) and SEAMEO RETRAC.
Mr. Kevin has twenty-seven years experience with computers including eight years as a web developer and five years as a BSD/Linux system administrator. He has practical experience using computer programming languages including Perl/CGI and PHP, ad is currently learning Python. He is very interested in helping businesses migrate from propriety to open source technology (servers, operating systems, telephone systems, etc.) to help cut technology operating costs. Last year, Kevin was featured in CNET's "Vietnam a crouching Tiger" where he talked about the emerging market for open source software in Vietnam.
Kevin holds a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University - Bloomington (2003) where he studied Comparative & International Affairs, Information Systems, and Nonprofit Management. He earned his Double Degree Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington in 1996. Kevin has nearly 7 years experience living overseas (Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkey and Vietnam) and can communicate in 8 languages including a little Vietnamese.
